Duluth Music Teachers Association Policy Statement

Adopted September 1992
Reviewed October 2011

This policy is agreed upon by the Duluth Music Teachers Association. Tuition fees for lessons cover the cost of your scheduled lesson time, our insurance, retirement, social security, and continuing education costs, as well as bear the expense of equipping and maintaining our studios, instruments, libraries and other equipment supplies. Also included in our fee is time spent in planning, study, scheduling, phone calls, bookkeeping and other studio related work.

Our profession is teaching music. We strive and uphold polices which allow us the time and financial security to devote our energy to the creative art of sharing music with others at the same time we need to operate the business side of our profession. As members of the Duluth Music Teachers Association, we pledge to make the study of music a fulfilling and rewarding experience for our students.
